March 2012
Several campaigns have been completed in both Januray, February and March with scientists from the Norway, Sweden, UK Russia and France.
The system was having some issues with the temperature sensors in the Tx containers which have been fixed.
November 2011
The first of the winter SPEAR campaigns took place from the 14th - 19th November. Experiments were conducted with our Russian collaborators at both the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute and the Polar Geophysical Institute
July 2011
The first PMSE heating experiments to be done on Svalbard during the 2nd week of July. Due to technical difficulties with the ESR however only 1 experiment was completed.
April 2011
Experiments were run over 3 days in April in collaboration with the Arctic and Antarctic Research Insitute and the EISCAT Svalbard Radar
March 2011
The system has now finished it's initial upgrades. SPEAR can now perform any user specified modulation periods at GPS timed accuracy. This is a major step forward in terms of the number of different experiments that can be carried out.
February 2011
The first successful campaign of the season was carried out between 19th and 28th February. Experiments were carried out by scientists from 4 different research groups. Hoepfully the data will provide some interesting results.
November 2010
Plans are currently underway for a SPEAR campaign at the end of February 2011.
October 2010
The latest SPEAR campaign was successfully completed in October 2010. The experiments involved scientists from several different nations including Norway, Russia, UK and USA.
